2025 WeWIN Mentorship Program Applications Open
We are excited to announce that applications are now open for the 2025 WeWIN mentorship program!
We are excited to announce that applications are now open for the 2025 WeWIN mentorship program!
Program Details 🤩
The program requires a minimum 7-month commitment and will begin April 2025 and conclude in October 2025. Mentors and Mentees will be matched on a 1:1 basis and are encouraged to meet bi-weekly. However, it is at the discretion of the matched Mentor and Mentee to determine the frequency of meetings—all pairs are encouraged to find a rhythm that works for them!
Separate applications are available for interested Mentors and Mentees. You may apply to participate in both roles. Participation in the program is not guaranteed.

BC WIN Autumn Event – Spotlight on the Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project: Women Leading Complex Projects

We are pleased to feature a fireside chat discussing the Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project and the women who are leading this complex work. The Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project is a highly complex BC infrastructure project where several key leadership roles are held by women. It has had challenges large infrastructure projects typically face along with several that no one would have expected like a global pandemic. This event will delve into the intricacies of managing diverse stakeholders and balancing work and personal life while leading such high-profile initiatives. Our discussion will also explore strategies for attracting and retaining more women in the infrastructure industry.

Behin graduated from UBC 14 years ago with a Bachelor in Applied Science and has been in the Heavy Civil Infrastructure Construction Industry since. She is currently the Bid Manager for Aecon and up to a few months ago was managing multiple scopes on the Pattullo Bridge Replacement project. Previously, she worked as a Project Manager on various infrastructure rehabilitation projects across Western Canada, and was a field engineer on 2 major infrastructure projects in Edmonton - the NW Anthony Henday and NE Anthony Henday projects.
Wendy Itagawa - Executive Project Director Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project, TI Corp
Wendy is the Executive Project Director for the Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project. She is an accomplished Engineer with experience on complex infrastructure projects in both the private and public sectors. She has been involved in some of B.C.’s largest public infrastructure projects during their definition, procurement, and implementation phases. Wendy’s major project experience includes the Sea to Sky Highway, the South Fraser Perimeter Road, the Evergreen SkyTrain Extension, and the Calgary West LRT Project. The Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project is being delivered by the Transportation Investment Corporation (TI Corp), which is a subsidiary of the BC Transportation Finance Authority (BCTFA). Wendy leads the delivery of the Bridge Replacement Project while managing the owner’s team of professionals and overseeing the design-build contractor’s team.
Kelly McBride - Quality Director, AECON
Kelly has been in heavy civil infrastructure projects for 36 years. In those 36 years she has been a field coordinator, superintendent, general superintendent, project engineer, project manager and quality manager/quality director and has had the pleasure to be on a various types of projects that have included Bid/Build, Design-Build and P3 that have ranged from hydro-electric, transmission lines, heavy infrastructure, and aerospace in both the US and Canada. With her wide range of project experience, she has a unique perspective on what makes for a successful project and quality program.

2019 Women Deliver Gallery
On Friday, June 7, WIN BC hosted a special event in support of the 2019 Women Deliver conference. A fascinating panel discussion, an art show, and an incredible view of the city from the library’s rooftop garden.
On Friday, June 7, WIN BC hosted a 2019 Women Deliver Sattelite Session. The evening’s theme was perspectives on equity in infrastructure delivery.
Attendees met a number of the featured artists and the curator, who is the City’s Engineering Artist in Residence.
The evening began with a panel discussion, which highlighted perspectives on equity in infrastructure delivery. Following the fascinating discussion, food and wine was enjoyed atop the library's rooftop garden.
